Jalin Hyatt: A Rising Asset for the New York Giants

As the New York Giants strive to solidify their playoff ambitions, second-year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is emerging as a linchpin to their success. Hyatt, standing at an athletic 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds, has taken significant steps to enhance his physical prowess. Knowing the grueling demands of the NFL, he's committed to weight gain, an effort underscored by some unconventional dietary choices.

Hyatt has added Uncrustables—frozen, individually wrapped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches—to his diet to help with this endeavor. "It's definitely hard for myself to gain weight," Hyatt admits. "Some guys, it's easier for them to gain weight or gain muscle. For myself, it's harder. I burn a lot of calories quick. I'm just one of those guys that's got to just keep eating." His approach is methodical, ensuring every meal counts. "PB&J's was one of my biggest things, because you want to eat your full meal. You don't want to eat a little bit and drink a protein shake. Then you're not really getting anything. So, for myself, finishing, completing your full meals, and then, an hour later or 30 minutes later, that's when you put in an Uncrustables or a PB&J or a little protein shake."

Hyatt's impact on the field has been as impressive as his commitment off it. The third-round pick out of Tennessee has made significant contributions during crucial moments of the season. In Week 2 of the 2023 season, his 58-yard reception was pivotal in the Giants' narrow three-point victory over the Cardinals. Moreover, his performance in Week 7 against the Commanders demonstrated his growing reliability. Hyatt recorded two catches for 75 yards, playing a crucial role in New York's 14-7 win.

As the season progressed, Hyatt continued to excel. Week 12 marked a milestone in his burgeoning career when he notched his first 100-yard receiving game in the NFL. This achievement was instrumental in the Giants' tight victory over the Patriots, further solidifying his status as a key player for the team.

Hyatt's focus extends beyond individual accolades. He underscores the importance of team success and maintains high aspirations for the Giants. "For me, I always set high expectations. Just looking at our team, looking at what we got—for goals, I just want a team goal. We have a playoff team. That's what we want to do. That's our focus and we're gonna get there," he explains.

As the Giants march forward, the performance and determination of Jalin Hyatt will undoubtedly play a critical role. His commitment to physical preparation, paired with his clutch performances on the field, not only enhances his contribution to the team but also inspires his teammates as they pursue their collective playoff dreams. The journey of Hyatt—marked by his relentless pursuit of improvement and unwavering focus on team goals—stands as a testament to the dedication and spirit driving the New York Giants this season.
